A Sincere Apology and Realization. |

Though I thought I was being rather witty in my “Blogging Mistake” post, I seem to have offended someone who I have followed in their blogging career for quite some time (since they started, to my knowledge, and watched them progress). Though my mood may have been been a little off during that day, I seem to have targeted my first real negative e-mail/comment. Not just a link-bait in my opinion (like in the case of DayJobNuker), but something which kind of got to me. I’m Giddy.. but it doesn’t feel like a happy giddy. Not sure whether I should celebrate or rethink my strategy a bit. On a regular basis, I get about 5-15 e-mails per day from Thinkblogger, each asking me certain questions and trying to ask for tips in certain areas of blogging or being a webmaster. It really thrills me to read your e-mails by the way and please keep them coming :). Though I have gained a small readership, it looks like I may have went a little too far with that post. However, the overall theme behind the post itself was to basically rise above and make a name for yourself, so you do NOT get flooded by the 130,000+ new blogs created every day (or at least that is recorded by technorati). What you should know. For that post, or any post really, I do not make much money, if at all. That is not what this blog is about. I am a SEO/Marketing/Tip blog, not a ‘make money’ blog, though I do plan to touch upon some of those aspects in the future, I do not intend to make money from it. I do not ask for people to sign up under me, even though I think I can get away with it, due to my awesome whit and charm ;). I love to blog. I love to write. I do not do it for the money like most bloggers do (especially when they first try to get into blogging - the current idea behind it is rather depressing), I blog because I just… love blogging. The “Hosting” sign up comment. That was a little different, I have never tried to pitch something in my posts. I offered to give people money to sign up under my affiliate program for a few of the more well trusted hosting companies. It worked, I managed to find 3 people who were interested. You know what though? I didn’t receive a single penny from it. Well, I did.. >_> .. but I gave 100% of it to the 3 people that contacted me through the “Contact Us” section on Thinkblogger. I personally just wanted to give something back to people who wanted to give some serious thought into switching to a .com domain but didn’t know if they wanted to shell out all that money on hosting. Just so you know: I am not trying to eliminate the little guy at all; infact, all my efforts and posts about blogging try to help out the little guy. All the tips I give on how to gain RSS submissions or how to gain that extra boost of traffic is for you and your benefit. Not for mine. I AM an underdog in this one myself ;). I do not consider myself a big fish, nor would I ever want to. If I start poisoning my blog with more sponsored review posts than actual content or my witty sense of humor, THEN and only then should you think that I am becoming the common power-hungry ‘big fish’. Personally, I do not wish for that to ever happen. I turned down 6 posts from Payperpost because they didn’t suit this blog at all and I thought it would lower the standard. So again, I apologies for any discomfort I caused any of the entrecard droppers who saw that post on that day, or any of my daily readers who got a little weirded out. If you didn’t get offended, then no worries. Just ignore this post. For those that did, I apologize. |
