Pixel-Shack

4 Participants?! PFfft.

Because I felt bad that Pixel-Shack was the only person that did NOT win (sorry Sly), I decided to let Everyeone who participated win. So, Pixel-Shack is also being awarded 500 EC.

Though I thank the 4 participants, I was kind of hoping for more people. I might not do another entrecard contest in the future :( Either that or I will make a contest for 10,000 EC and let it run for a month. Connecting it to Entrecard.

It was just poor planning on my part, I guess, hehe.

Sweet and Short, “You Drop I Follow” List

U Drop I dropFor those who do not know, “U drop I Follow” has been coined in the entrecard community and is gaining quite a bit of momentum.

This concept basically means that if you drop your card on someone’s blog that has a small banner under or above the widget, means that they will take the time to visit your blog and drop you back (or atleast, that is how it is meant to be).

Where is this list?

Well, you asked for it, you got it! Here is a short list of some “U drop I Follow” blogs for your dropping pleasures ;) A lot of these are not yet included into the drop list on a lot of sites I noticed. If they are added, then more link love to them ;)

Want to sink your teeth into more?

This is of course, a small list, but they will drop back onto your blog which will, in turn, raise your advertising score and possibly visibility (in the case of chain droppers and potential bloggers looking for advertising space). There is a main list which is created by Lee Doyle and that is over at his Blog. [link]

I was compiling a list of drop-back blogs, but by the looks of it there already was a list, and it is located there. So enjoy!

Want to add your site?

Do you have one of those badges? are you on Lee Doyle’s List? Do you want to be added here? Then comment. ;) I am doing this to give people an extra back link and some link love :) … because im nice … yes …

Entrecard Contest. 3000 Credits and More!!

Web 2.0 ColorsBe the first to take part in Thinkbloggers first Entrecard Contest! What can I say, I got bored. The rules are simple, the prize is nice. This is the first ’small’ Entrecard Contest that I will be having.

What are the Prizes:

  • Grand Prize:
    • 2000 Credits + 1 Honest Website Review (No NoFollow)
  • Follow Up Prizes:
    • 1 Honest Website Review (No NoFollow)
    • 1 Prize of 1000 Credits.

This means that there will be 3 Winners in Total for this contest! 1 for the Grand Prize, and 2 for the follow up prize slots.

What do you have to Do?

  • 2 Entries for a Positive Post about Thinkblogger, with 1 back link to a post (*not related to the contest)
  • 1 Entry for a Positive Entrecard recommendation (Link Here)
  • 1 Entry for 3 useful comments to my posts. (*The contest post does not count for this)
  • When finished, Post A Comment to this post saying what you did and use your blog site as your URL.

When does the Contest End?

  • Start Date: Friday, March 7th, 2008. 7:00 PM
  • End Date: Friday, March 14th, 2008. 7:00 PM

Winners will be Announced after I have contacted them on Friday. They will be announced in a blog Post along with all the blogs that participated.

How will the Winners be Picked?

Names out of a hat ;) Just kidding. I will go to random.org list randomizer and I will plug in your name/url (up to 4 times, if you did all 3 options) and I will randomize it 5 times, and pick the 1st one for the grand prize winner.

I will randomize 5 more times to pick the second. 5 more to pick the third. The only rule is that you cannot get picked for prize slots. (ie: grand prize winner + another honest review)

Quick note:

No matter what, the grand prize draw will be taken. The followup prizes only occur if 5 people have signed up, then 10 people. This is to avoid ‘easy wins’. Sorry everyone.

That is all, Good day! Good luck ;)

Depending on how well this goes, I might do a few more contests in the future. Enjoy and Good Luck!

Entrecard Experiment #1: Chain Drops.

picture - entrecard logoI somewhat hinted that I was going to post about an experiment that I did at Entrecard, and this is my first phase that I would like to discuss. “Chain Drops”.

Some of you liked this from me, others hated it. I have been blindly chain-dropping my card in every category that had an advertising price of over 60. Sounds fun, no?

What did this entitle?

I went and clicked on every category, I then found the top entercarders who had a price of over 60 credits, and then I dropped on their blog. I did 300 drops a day for the last 5 days. The results were quite pleasant. I went from an advertising score of 10EC to over 200EC and rising.

If you Drop on my Blog Daily:

I am preparing for my next phase, instead of just blindly dropping, I will be paying attention to what I drop and what gets me drops. So if you drop on this blog daily, guess what? That means that I will drop on your blog daily. I am slowly building up a ‘YouDropIDrop’ list which I might post in the future. So if you come across this blog on a daily basis, leave me a comment and link it to your blog! sounds simple enough, no? Or contact me via the contact button on the top.

Within just 5 days:

I skyrocketed my blog to the top 15 in my category. Pretty good for someone who just felt like experimenting. I have been paying attention to the people who drop on my blog and I will be starting to drop them regularly. So if you want a free drop, you know what to do ;). If you have been dropping regularly on this blog, I have been dropping back. However, if for some reason that I have missed you and you drop on a daily basis, message me or leave a comment.

300 a day? Your crazy!

… Maybe a little bit. However, for my chain-dropping experiment, I used Opera (and removed all the images and sounds and scripts). If I read something I was interested in, I commented, but to save me some time and have a quicker load up on the blog so I could drop quicker, it had to be done. (I still left quite a few comments though).

Next Phase:

I will be chain dropping for the next few days (probably 3-4), but if you leave a message, I will include you on my list, whether you have over 40-60 entrecard credits or not! With this experiment gone and under way, I managed to rack in over 4000 credits which were used on mass-advertising this blog. It is quite fun to see how many clicks I get from certain blogs. I have only had a few activated so far, but I have already gained some nice traffic from them.

Stay tuned: Phase Two - YouDropIDrop.
