Make Money Blogging 101

Make Money BloggingSome of you blog so they can blog. (like myself - I get a thrill from blogging). Others, get into blogging because they think they can get tons of money.

Though I cannot necessarily agree with this frame of mind, it is very possible to make money while blogging, even when just starting out.

However, you need to keep in mind that the more readers and visibility you have (as well as the niche you write about), the more you could potentially make. That aside, here are some neat ways.

Some Basic Ways:

  • Google Adsense - Yep, who would have thought. One of the most well known advertising companies actually work well with blogs. (Well, not as well as with other types of sites, but still enough, depending on your niche and target audience). I might try this one again in the future for an experiment now that the new layout is in and kickin’ ;).
  • Advertising Space - This is a big one. Have a PR5 blog with thousands of unique visitors a day (over-exaguration)? Then sell some advertising space on your sidebar or get a square box set up for people to advertise on. Look over at people like John Cow, who is selling a 125×125 box for $125/month, or others who don’t quite make as much ;) I am selling it for only $15/month, but I have 4 boxes. That $60.
  • Affiliate Products - Quite the dreaded one, but it works. If you have an internet marketing niche, try to get some products related to it. Have a “Make Money Blog”? Why not get people to sign up under your web hosts and get your ebooks.
  • Blog Reviews - Have some back links already? then sign up to places like PayPerPost.com or SponsoredReviews.com. They have a pretty big advertiser base which can definitely help you get your foot in the door. However, you can also directly put a “Get Reviewed” Section or Page on your blog and advertise your prices directly.
  • Other Platforms - There are other networks out there that can make you a bit of money like Adtoll or Project Wonderful. If you have a lot of traffic, Adtoll looks pretty promising. Project Wonderful, you get paid daily. (The amount is not as much, but still a pretty decent amount in the end if it adds up and you have a good blog - that is, if your having trouble advertising with other methods)

Is it True?!

Yes, it is true. You “can” make money online, but do not be fooled. You cannot just slap together a blog and expect to make $100’s a month. (well, unless your really lucky). It takes work and dedication, but once you get into your groove, things come naturally. It is not how most bloggers put it, in order to get a quick buck or two.

You need to build a name for yourself, a ‘brand’, and get a lot of traffic as well. However, it is possible, it just takes time. I think patience is one of the things people do not take too well when Blogging, as most bloggers quit before they reach their 3 month mark.

How do I get enough Traffic?

Build those back links, create more posts, submit some more articles, and comment on other blogs! You cannot just ‘wait around’ to get popular, you have to step forward, get your rear and gear, and make it happen for yourself.

Remember, ‘Seize your Blog, Make it your Own(yay for my old slogan)

How to gain Visibility through Article Marketing

Though perhaps not as vibrant any more with how saturated it has become in certain niches, article marketing still stands, without a doubt, to be one of the more effective ways to freely advertise on the internet.

If you do not know much about this form of marketing then I suggest that you really try to learn because it has multiple advantages and benefits when it comes to traffic generation and back links.

I sound like a Broken Record, but “Content is King”:

The first thing you should realize, is that content is your diamond in the rough on the internet. The more quality articles you can write to article directories, the more visibility (and money if your selling a product) that you will make. It is that simple really.

If anything, you should not be spending a dime on ads but rather taking an 30 minutes out of your day to write an article and another hour to create variations of it (if thats your thing), and submit to multiple sites.

Why Articles over Ads you ask? How long does your normal ad last in the memories of the visitors? Not like, because most people do not like ads. How long do articles last in article directories? Well, most last forever.

I am Credible! Believe Me! …. Please?

The more articles you submit all over the web, the more exposure and credibility you will get. It is a sad way to think about it, but it is true. People in your niche will start to see your website on other websites and article directories and they ‘might’ dub you an expert in your field.

Unless of course, you are spitting out pure lies, “I am a noob that earns $3,000 a month in my first month of blogging”. There are two lies in that statement ;) hehe.

I hear “Search Engine Optimization”:

Guess what? Instead of plummeting your hard earned cash and giving it to click bombers or accidental clicks and watch your money go into a spiral of oblivion, why not invest in some quality articles. What this will do is it will also help your site get higher ranks in search engines.

Whenever you write on article on most article directories, you have a profile and you have to edit your bio with an anchor text/link pointing back at your site. This will count as a back link, or at least some visibility for you, which should definitely help you raise your rank a bit.

However, with this in mind, you will bring more customers to your humble website, blog, or product landing page.

Will Article Marketing die in the future?

Nope. That simple. The fact is that the internet has millions of articles in many shapes and forms. Just be sure to write and submit articles once in a while, if not a few times a week.

Spend a bit of time rewording each article so you do not get pegged for Identical Content, as that might hinder your search engine rankings. The more articles you write and submit, the more visibility you will have. (That should be pretty basic stuff there).

Keep In Mind:

This method is not JUST for traffic purposes, either. Article Marketing can be a very powerful tool to make you money online, as well. If you set it up right you can make a lot of money by just submitting articles all over the internet. However, for the sake and purpose of this post, I use traffic as that is what this blog is all about. To gain traffic; To Gain Visibility; To Gain Presence; To Gain Success.

PayPerPost

This post contains affiliate links. If you wish to sign up without supporting ThinkBlogger, then the last word of this post is a clean no-referral link. Thank you.

I am sure some of you may have heard of it, however there are some who have not. If you have a blog and have created it a while ago and have managed to update it almost daily, this might be for you.

PayPerPost Introduction:

PayPerPost is a network which connects blog publishers and blog advertisers together. Let’s say you have a PR2 blog that is over 90 days old and do not know how to monetize, well, payperpost can help you with that. You get paid to review other blogs/articles that are listed in their system.

What are The Minimum Requirements?

  • Your Blog must be 90 Days Old
  • There must be at least 20 Posts
  • You must have an archive or easily navigated
  • Must be written in clear English
  • Must have a certain quality in your posts
  • Keep Your “I made $### from this” posts to a Minimum

So after you reach these requirements and sign up, they take a few days to review your blog and poke around until they decide whether or not you are ready for PayPerPost.

How can You make More per Post?

There are a few ways to do this. Increase your Page Ran, Decrease your Alexa Ranking, and increase your previously accepted article ratings. These are the three simple ways of getting more for your posts.

Conclusion:

PayPerPost looks very promising and is a way for potential bloggers to make a bit of money on the side. They also try to encourage bloggers to not write all PayPerPost ads as that is not very attractive to a blog, nor is it fair to your readers, or the advertisers; so try to find some form of a balance and work from there.

Looking at the Marketplace right now, the posts range from $5 USD payouts to the highest one, about $135. So if you haven’t signed up already, give it a shot, add your blog, and see what they can do for you! You Can Sign Up Here. If you wish to sign up without the use of my affiliate link, then the clean one is right here.

Article Marketing: Part 2

Introduction:

In a previous post, we discussed the basics of Article Marketing in hopes to get a better understanding of how to gain money from it. It’s quite simple really, or is it? I will list some of the pros and cons of each with an expanded explanation.

The good, The Bad, The Ugly:

Pros of Article Marketing:

  • Highly effective when trying to target traffic or back links in a short time.
    • These links are one way, so it will help boost your Google Page Rank (when it updates)
  • If you are proficient with your own writing style, you can easily make a 300-500 word article which can help establish you as an expert in your niche.
  • Article Marketing is viral. If you do it once, it just spreads out. Its quite contagious ;)
  • As long as you provide quality content, you cannot go wrong. Submit 5-10 articles a day and you can make some decent cash with that.

Cons of Article Marketing:

  • You need decent writing skills (or atleast your own personal style which stands out)
    • If you do not have enough skill in this, you can hire a ghost writer. Though it might cost you some money. (then again, ghost writers are worth it if you can find a good one)
  • Manual Submissions can be a drag. If only there was another way. Oh wait. There is. You can pay someone else to do it for you!
    • You can also find a program to do it for you, but I truly do not trust these. I’ve heard mixed reviews. (but hey, if you have a good one on hand. inform me! I will write up a review for it in the future).
  • Articles can be time consuming
  • Marketing these articles can be time consuming

Hope this helped someone in some way, shape, form, or other. I will be sending out the e-mails pertaining to previous posts in the morning (or whenever I wake up). Sorry about the delays.
