There are many different ways to get traffic to your blog. A lot of these ways have been discussed previously, here, at ThinkBlogger. However, you can still utilize these methods to help get you started! I put them all in a nice big list for all you readers out there (in a way, to help get them more organized for myself, too, as I will be bookmarking it in the future)
What are these methods?
- Lists. Resource lists are a great source on how to get traffic.
- Leave Business to Business. Do not start writing about your family, a storm in some small town nobody has heard of, or your personal experiences of eating popcorn. Unless it is somehow directly correlated with your blogs success, then chances are nobody is really interested. (unless, of course, you can put a comical spin on it)
- Expertise. Learn how to become an expert in your field. Read other bloggers posts and learn from them. Do not try reinventing the wheel.
- Share. Share your expertise with other bloggers on their posts or groups so people recognize you.
- Importance. Write about something that will be readable all year.
- Include Polls. I have done it myself and I noticed a nice jump in traffic. Why? People felt like they should contribute. I might do this once a month or so to ask my readers what THEY think.
- Tag it! Use del.ico.us, reddit, and sphinn. These can be great sources of traffic for you, too!
- Interviews. Try to do some e-mail interviews with the A-List bloggers.
- RSS - Encourage readers to subscribe by RSS (explain what it is, and why you want them to subscribe - be honest with them)
- Technorati - Encourage readers to add you to Technorati.
- The New Day. Every day is a new beginning, because you will bring in new readers to your blog. They will be different from yesterdays readers. From time to time, it isn’t a bad idea to repeat things.
- Little Resources. Point out things which are not well known but are useful. For example, I would like to point out izearanks.com for all those bloggers who use PayPerPost, it is the new ranking system for them which can help you out as a blogger and as a publisher for PayPerPost.
Lets Wrap up.
This list is slightly different from the previous ones, and I wanted to include it into a nice ball (list, in this case) of information that is easy to read and gets to the point. I do not want to bore people with 20 pages of one post. I will bore you with 1 page each of 20 posts, to make you come back for more hehe. I’m sneaky, aren’t I? Maybe, in my own ironical, I’m trying to convey something to you here.
Do not Forget.
Anyway, enjoy! Keep those comments coming! They’re great! With after 6 quality comments from your account you get Do-Follow on your name. This way you can spread the link juice
