For a low price of $4.95, you can increase your search engine rankings using these 1834 ‘easy’ mind-numbing steps! hmph. How about we just give you some free tips and call it a day? I think that would be best. There are countless things you can do to improve your SEO to any blog (or website) with very little effort. Most people just do not do it. What most webmasters do not realize is that these easy 10 second fixes can end up bringing them more visibility to their blog or website. The Pages Address Bar/Url Structure: Instead of having a .com/?p=830828, why not try something different and less annoying to read, both for viewers and search engines? If you run a wordpress blog, you can automatically change the way permalinks show up. When I first changed from numbers to actual words, I saw some major improvements over a span of a few days. Note: You should be careful while doing this, as if you change the way that permalinks show up, you might effect your back links in a negative way. For all of you Wordpress users, there is a plugin that you can get which is located right here, titled Advanced Permalinks. What this does is allow for multiple formats so you can make the transition slowly, but with every new updated post it can be converted automatically. Keyword Density: There is that dreaded term again, but it is not so bad. Try to focus on specific keywords on each page from time to time. If the article makes sense, then an optimum keyword density is usually set to be anywhere between 5-7%. There was an article written about this ages ago (at least it feels like it), “Keyword Density: The Feared Term of SEO” . All in One SEO: Wordpress Plugin I hate to be a preacher, but I will do it anyway. This plugin is great and I have been using it for about a month or so and I have seen some pretty awesome results. I am on the first page for a good number of my posts and it constantly grabs me a bit of traffic. Check out this plugin at the wordpress plugin site, here. Site Maps can be your Best Friend Who would have thought that a site map could increase your visibility?! It is true. Thinkblogger has a sitemap which is dynamically recreated every time someone comments, trackbacks one of the posts here or when I create a new post or page. It is a pretty nifty feature, I must add. The plugin can be found here, “Google XML Sitemaps“. Don’t just spit out a bunch of paragraphs of just text. During this fine internet age, we like things organized. Use keywords in your headings to emphasize what you are trying to convey and make sure that the content is readable and attractive to both readers and search engines. Overall: Though this may not serve as much of a Ranking tip as more so a general tip. Keep in mind, you have to have a bit of fun from time to time or you will drive yourself crazy. You also have to keep in mind that you do this for you and your readers. You should not write a blog for the money of it. Whatever your niche is, you are there to share your experiences, your information, and your writing style; you are there to make yourself known and have people learn from you. Don’t ever lose sight of that. |
